Brunei Darussalam marked an important milestone in its sustainability journey with the official commissioning of Project Sustainable Integration of Natural and Renewable Energy, Project SINAR. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy said the project represents a significant step forward in aligning the country's industrial development with its climate goals. Speaking at the Launch of Projek SINAR at Hengyi Industries, Pulau Muara Besar Industrial Park, 12th February morning, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah as a member of the Board of Directors of Hengyi Industries, emphasised that, Project SINAR is a vital pulse in the context of the Brunei Economic Blueprint and provides the sustainable foundation for the growth of the non-oil and gas sector.
Scheduled for completion by early 2029, the expansion will nearly triple the refinery's production capacity, increasing output from 8 million to 20 million metric tonnes per year. Also present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development.
